Welcome to your personal retreat cabin
|
This rustic little cabin was built by Ralph years ago, to be his weekend retreat, and when we moved out to this land seven years ago, it was our home for two years.. Yes, we lived in this little (10'x20') cabin full-time while we built our larger log home.
And now we are so happy to be able to welcome you to rest here for a while - to live in a simple space, to step out your front or back door and right into the embrace of Nature.
The cabin has a double futon bed, with organic cotton sheets. The kitchen area is equipped with a two-burner cooktop, a toaster oven, and a mini fridge and a Santevia water filter (with fluoride filter). You are free to prepare your own meals, or we will prepare one meal a day for you.
There is hot running water in the kitchen area, and an additional sink in the back 'bathroom' with cold running water. There is a Nature's Head composting toilet in the bathroom, in addition, we have possibly the cleanest, prettiest outhouse in the region :) ..fully functional, if you are up for an adventure...
The cabin also has a wonderful outdoor shower - towels are provided.
Out your back door is a screened-in gazebo with a cafe table and two chairs. And what we call the 'cabin gardens' - gardens that we built when we were living in the little cabin. They still produce lettuce and kale, garlic and herbs, and there are several fruit bushes there too.
Out your front door, you will see the Meditation Cabin/treatment room, and about 50 metres away is our log home and the Medicine Wheel gardens.
And, this is a healing space, so please, no alcohol or drugs (*please contact us regarding the possible use of medicinal marijuana).
'Free Body Culture'
In the countries of central Europe, there is a term - 'Frei Körper Kulture' which means 'Free Body Culture' - such a wonderful term for what we, in North America call 'Clothing Optional'
So, what do we mean when we say that our property is 'clothing optional'? We mean that you may be as covered or as free and uncovered as you wish to be - there is no pressure either way. I will say that it is a rare and wonderful thing to walk gently on the nature trails, with your wonderful body fully open to the air, the sunlight and the very breath of the woods. You may walk freely, with no need to cover yourself, from the sauna to your shower, or perhaps lie on a blanket and let your entire body drink in the sunlight. We tend toward this level of freedom in our daily life during the summer, but we will respect your boundaries and comfort level around this, so please feel free to communicate with us around this.
